Egypt’s Tourism and Antiquities Ministry announced on Sunday that a floating hotel on the Luxor Corniche had partially capsized.
The ministry said that the hotel was out of operation and had not received any Egyptian or foreign guests or tourists since the end of March due to the expiration of its tourist license.
The ministry added in a statement that this incident did not result in any injuries or death.
It explained that the hotel was present at the Corniche to carry out the necessary development and renovation works, after which further inspections would be carried out by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to renew its license.
A committee of representatives of the Central Administration of Hotel Establishments, Shops and Tourism Activities at the ministry headed immediately to the site upon learning of the incident in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
