FM: Trials of former officials going well

Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed al-Orabi said trials of former officials are going well, despite accusations regarding the judiciary’s integrity.

In an interview with Al-Arabiya news channel on Tuesday, Orabi said fair trials and investigations must follow certain procedures, and the trials of former officials are not being delayed without reason.

The minister drew attention to the fact that rulings have been issued in several cases. He added that people's demands, which include speedy trials for those accused of killing protesters, are legitimate.

Orabi defended the fairness of the judiciary, which he stressed is reviewing a huge caseload.

“I believe things are going well," he said. "Patience would be very useful in this situation.”
