Following severe cold snap, Egypt to see warmer days ahead

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has revealed the expected weather conditions for Thursday across the country.

A sudden change is expected in the second half of the Coptic month of Amshir (February 8 – March 9), with rising temperatures resulting in moderate weather during the day in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coasts, and northern Upper Egypt, and warm weather in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

The weather will be very cold at night and in the early morning over most of the country.

Thursday’s weather will see the formation of water mist in the morning on a number of agricultural and fast roads near bodies of water leading to Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coasts, the Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt, with wind activity across some areas.

According to the EMA, the latest satellite images revealed the continuation of cloud cover consisting of low, medium, and cumulonimbus clouds over areas of the Western Desert, northern and southern Upper Egypt.

This cloud cover will be accompanied by rainfall of varying intensity in scattered areas across the nation.
