Foreign Ministry following up on murder of Egyptian man in Italy

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Friday confirming the murder of a young Egyptian man in the Italian city of Milan, noting that it is following up on the investigations.

“The Foreign Ministry, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Ministry is closely following up with the Italian authorities on the incident of the death of the young Egyptian Rami al-Gamal,” the statement added.

The Ministry added that Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel-Ati, “Directed the Egyptian Consulate General in Milan, upon learning of the incident, to follow up on the procedures and progress of the investigations with the Italian authorities, and to review the report of the competent authorities to determine the circumstances of the death, upon completion of the investigations.”

The Ministry said that it, “Extends its sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased, praying to God Almighty to have mercy on him and inspire his family with patience and solace.”
