Four dead, nine injured on first day of referendum in Sohag

The Interior Ministry reported that four people died and nine others were injured, including two policemen, in clashes between Muslim Brotherhood supporters and security forces in Sohag on the first day of the constitution referendum.
 
The ministry said in an official statement on Tuesday that supporters of the Brotherhood fired shots at passers-by from building rooftops in an attempt to prevents them from reaching polling stations.
 
Security forces arrested 17 of the Brotherhood supporters for possessing machine guns and restored security in the area.
