
Four people were killed and 11 others injured in a collision on Sunday between a microbus and a private car, after one of the drivers exceeded the speed limit on the Fareskur-Damietta Road in the Nile Delta.
A unit from the Fareskur Police Station responded to the scene, and the ambulance service dispatched more than eight vehicles to transport the injured to Kafr Saad Central Hospital for treatment.
Eyewitness said that a microbus driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with the private car while trying to avoid falling into a drain.
The driver of the private car was among the deceased.
A medical source confirmed that some of the injured require medical observation until their overall health condition stabilizes.
The source added that some of the injured have been placed under medical observation in intensive care units.
The bodies of the accident victims have been deposited in the hospital morgue pending the completion of the necessary legal procedures and the issuance of burial permits, the source said.
Security services prepared the necessary report on the incident and notified the Public Prosecution, which assigned a forensic committee to prepare a report on the cause of death in preparation for the issuance of burial permits.
An investigation into the incident and its exact cause is currently underway.
