Giza Governor Ali Abdel Rahman issued a decree on Wednesday, obliging shop owners to place and use garbage cans outside their shops so as not to dump trash on the pavement.
The law allows to place the cans within 40m from the entrance.
The governor said the garbage collectors will pass everyday to empty the cans.
Violating shops will be fined LE100 and warned of shutdown. If they violate again, they will be fined LE500 and closed for a month. The third time, they will be closed for six months and their licenses could be withdrawn.
