Government officials received on Wednesday 510,000 bottles of phosphoric ink and uniforms for officials who will supervise the upcoming parliamentary elections, scheduled to begin 28 November.
The International Foundation for Electoral Systems provided the supplies based on an agreement with Egypt.
Authorities at Cairo International Airport exempted the items from custom duties per cabinet orders, an official airport source said.
Voters are required to mark themselves by dipping one finger into the ink so they cannot vote multiple times. Judges and officials supervising polling stations will wear the uniforms.
