Gradual rise in temperatures on Monday, yet cold at night

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) anticipates that temperatures will continue to gradually rise in most parts of the country, Monday, coinciding with the first day of the Coptic Baramhat month (March 10-April 8).

The weather will be warm during the day in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northwestern coasts, South Sinai and northern Upper Egypt, moderate on the northeastern coasts, and hot in southern Upper Egypt, and will be cold at night over most of the country.

The gradual rise in temperatures is expected to continue during the coming days, with the maximum temperature in Cairo to reach 25C.

Mist will remain the most influential weather phenomenon on roads this week.

Monday’s weather forecast

Weather on Monday will feature dense mists, sometimes during the early morning hours, impacting horizontal visibility especially on agricultural and express roads and those close to water bodies.

Satellite data shows light wind activity in some areas, without any significant impact on maritime navigation.

Advice for citizens:

  • Drive with extreme caution early in the morning due to heavy fog, especially on highways and agricultural roads.
  • Avoid violent marine activities in areas experiencing slight disturbances in the Red Sea.
  • Wear heavy clothing at night and early morning hours due to the drop in temperatures after sunset.

Expected temperatures on Monday:

  • Alexandria: 24C
  • Cairo: 25C
  • Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh: 26C
  • Luxor and Aswan: 29C
