One conscript was killed, another was injured as unknown gunmen fired shots on Al-Gameel customs check in Port Said harbor on Monday.
Security sources said conscript Mohamed Shaaban Ali, 21, of the Port Said harbors’ security force, passed away while in Port Said military hospital for treatment. He was shot in the stomach.
Lieutenant Colonel Islam Al-Sayyad, head of Port Said security department’s information Administration, said preliminary investigations and eyewitnesses testimonies showed that four masked gunmen on two motorbikes fired shots using machine gun and rifle on the customs check, west of Port Said, which led to injury of Shaaban and another conscript Mohamed Eid Al-Shahhat in his right arm.
Joint troops of military and police are combing the area surrounding the customs check, Al-Zohour district and the shanty town of Ezbet Abu Ouf, which is near from the customs check, to arrest the criminals.
