Dr. Khaled al-Khatib, head of the Health Ministry’s Urgent and Critical Care Administration, has said that the toll of Sundays’ clashes rose to 54 dead and 379 injured.
A ministry report said 22 died and 196 were injured in Cairo, 27 died and 121 were injured in Giza, and one died and two were injured in Minya. The report also said that four died and 19 were injured in Beni Suef. Two people were injured in Ismailia, five in Gharbiya, 16 in Alexandria, nine in Suez, seven in Beheira, one in Aswan and one in Qena.
Injuries were caused by gunshots and ranged between bruises, abrasions and fractures in different parts of the body.
