Horrific collision on Alexandria-Cairo Desert Road kills 15 people, leaves 7 injured

Eyewitnesses and security sources reported that a truck-trailer collided with four passenger microbuses due to excessive speeding, while one of the cars caught on fire.

The accident occurred in the Amreya area, near the Fish Resources Bridge and the Free Zone.

Security forces, accompanied by 10 ambulances and fire engines, rushed to the site of the accident.

The inspection revealed that the trailer ran over the cars, turning one of them into an mangled wreck with the victims still inside.

An official source revealed that the seven injured’s injuries ranged from fractures, suspected post-concussion, and brain bleeding.

They were transferred to Amreya General Hospital to receive the necessary treatment.

The source added that the bodies were transported from the site of the accident and distributed to three hospitals: Amreya General, al-Qabbari, and al-Ajami, at the disposal of the Public Prosecution.

The police filed a report on the incident at Amreya Police Department, and it is being presented to the Public Prosecution for further investigations.
