Investigation authorities have released, on Monday, Egyptian singer Hossam Habib, on the condition of bail with a payment of LE10,000, pending his accusation investigation of threatening, insulting and defaming his ex-wife and singer Sherine Abdel Wahab.
Abdel Wahab called on all media outlets not to circulate news related to her disagreements with her divorcee.
Her business manager, Sarah al-Tabbakh, told Al-Masry Al-Youm that Abdel Wahab said the matter was personal and that she would like media to respect her privacy.
According to the investigations, Abdel Wahab resorted to the police to take a written pledge on Habib not to harm her and her two daughters.
The police arrived at the scene and found Habib at the residence of Abdel Wahab in Sheikh Zayed.
They then took him into police custody and notified the Public Prosecution to conduct investigations.
Habib responded by saying that he was at Abdel Wahab’s villa and that the purpose of the visit was to discuss a potential joint artistic project.
Authorities seized a firearm that was in Habib’s possession, for examination by the experts of the criminal lab and the accused claimed that the weapon he possessed was licensed.
