The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects temperatures to rise by up to two degrees Celsius due to high humidity starting from Monday until the end of August.
The EMA expects that Monday’s weather will be hot and humid during the day in Greater Cairo, the Delta, and the North Coast, and very hot in South Sinai and the southern parts of the country.
It will remain hot and humid by night across most of the nation, while being moderate and humid on the North Coast.
Weather maps anticipate chances of light rainfall, which may be moderate and sometimes thundery in the far south of the country and south of the Red Sea mountain ranges. There may also be intermittently active winds in the northeastern coasts, stirring up dust storms in areas of the far south of Upper Egypt and the south of the Red Sea mountain ranges.
Expected temperatures on Monday:
- Alexandria: 32C
- Cairo: 36C
- Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada: 39C
