House of Representatives prepares anti-prostitution bill

Parliamentarian, Shadia Sabet, stated on Sunday that she would submit a bill on anti-prostitution, debauchery and immorality during the coming session for the House of Representatives on Monday.

The bill aims to combate “immoral” parties that call for debauchery and instill “confusing ideas,” which she claims harm national security through the minds of its youth.  The bill will cancel law No. 10 from 1961 on debauchery and law No. 68 from 1951, she added.

Sabet clarified that the bill separately defined prostitution, debauchery and immorality, as renting, offering or practicing sexual services in exchange for money.
