HRW doubts Israeli army story about Palestinian man killing

A Human Rights Watch report expressed doubt, on Sunday, about the Israeli army's story of the death of Palestinian peasant Abu Maria on July 23, 2015.

Eyewitnesses reported that the shots were aimed at the man's chest and therefore intended to be deadly. The report mentioned that Abu Maria's son was also shot and injured by Israeli soldiers.

According to the report, the Israeli soldiers shot the Palestinian man without any provocation. It added that evidence and eyewitness testimonies are contrary to the Israeli army's story. The Israeli army has stated that the soldiers killed the peasant in self-defense.
