Import/export control to examine parcels containing chemical substances

The Industry Ministry has announced in a statement that the Chemistry Department, as well as the labs from the General Organization of Exports and Imports Control will begin to examine parcels that include chemical substances.

In the past, only the Chemistry Department used to examine parcels containing chemical substances.

The import and export labs have been assigned this task in order to quickly conclude examinations, thereby facilitating the process for importers and exporters who have had to wait a long time for parcel approval.

The new policy is being implemented as a means of facilitating trade and allowing the entry of incoming raw materials used in industry, while simultaneously preventing the entry of substances that could harm national security, read the Industry Ministry's statement.
