International striker joins Egypt’s Ahly

International striker Dominique Da Silva, a Mauritanian who plays for Tunisia's CS Sfaxien club, has officially joined Ahly, where he will play for four and a half years.

According to the deal, Da Silva will receive US$1 million, and his club will receive US$600,000. The footballer will start practicing with Ahly starting Wednesday.

Ahly had been negotiating secretly with Da Silva over the past days after the club's football officials received the green light from Manuel Jose, the football team’s Portuguese coach, to negotiate with the player.

Sayyed Abdel Hafeez, Ahly’s football director, said football officials made the decision after watching several matches played by Da Silva.

Abdel Hafeez added that Ahly will have another talented African striker join its ranks over the coming days.
