The public relations office of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announced that the Israeli Ramat David Air Base was targeted with ballistic missiles in retaliation for what it described as Israel’s “rampant crimes” in southern Lebanon.
The statement explained that the operation was in response to what it called the mass killings and forced displacement in the Tyre and Nabatieh regions, including the outskirts of Beirut.
The base has been targeted by Iranian ballistic missiles since its “incursion”, it added.
The Revolutionary Guard added that the US and Israel have not adhered to previous understandings and have continued their military operations in Lebanon, in addition to its repeated attacks on Iranian coasts and ships in the Strait of Hormuz, the Sea of Oman, and the Indian Ocean.
