"A good number" of Arab heads of state will attend the Arab summit scheduled to be held in Baghdad on 29 March, Iraqi government spokesperson Ali al-Dabbagh said Monday.
Dabbagh told official TV channel Al-Iraqiya that several Arab leaders indicated they will attend the summit. The Arab League also said a larger number of Arab leaders will attend the summit compared to past summits.
The current events sweeping the Arab world make this summit particularly significant, Dabbagh said, adding that Arab leaders have not held their annual summit for two years.
The last summit was held in Sirte, Libya, on 27 March 2010.
