Israeli delegation back in Cairo for Gaza ceasefire talks

An Israeli delegation returned to Cairo on Wednesday for a couple of hours to meet with senior Egyptian security officials over talks about a permanent truce in Gaza.

An informed source said that the delegation was composed of three senior Israeli officials, headed by Yoram Cohen, chief of Israel's security agency. The delegation will meet Egyptian officials who are in charge of indirect talks between the Palestinian factions and the Israeli delegation.

Both the Palestinians and Israelis showed limited progress during negotiations hosted by Cairo over a ceasefire in Gaza.

Israel's offensive started in July and left at least 1,950 Palestinians dead.
