Japan's deputy foreign minister, Koro Bessho, arrived in Cairo on Sunday morning in a two-day visit to hold talks with a number of Egyptian officials.
The talks will tackle the latest developments in Egypt and possible support by Japan during its transitional period.
Bessho will also meet Arab League officials to discuss the situation in Arab countries. He will also meet with political party leaders.
Bessho had been received at Cairo International Airport by staff from Japan’s embassy in Cairo, as well as foreign ministry employees.
