Jenin death toll rises to 12 as Israel’s assault enters third day

Israeli forces continued their aggression against the city of Jenin and its camp in the occupied West Bank for the third consecutive day on Thursday, killing two Palestinians and bringing the death toll to 12 in three days.

Two Palestinians from the town of Qabatiya were killed on Thursday after their house was besieged in the town of Burqin, west of Jenin, raising the death toll to 12 in three days, according to the Palestinian News Agency WAFA.

Israeli forces raided the town of Burqin after an Israeli special forces unit infiltrated the area. They surrounded a house where the two Palestinians were located and opened fire, before demolishing the three-story building with them inside, leading to their deaths and the seizure of their bodies.

Israel also imposed a tight siege on Jenin camp and closed its entrances, forcing residents from Mehyoub Street and some neighborhoods of the camp to leave their homes and evacuate the camp through a single road towards the western entrance of the camp, known as Wadi Burqin.

Simultaneously, ‘Kfir’ drones continued to hover over the camp, threatening residents through loudspeakers and dropping leaflets.

Occupation forces on Tuesday launched an attack on the city of Jenin and its camp, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu describing it as a ‘large-scale and important’ military operation.
