Judge denies EU representatives entry to court

Judge Mohamed Nagy Shehata, head of the Cairo Criminal Court who is currently presiding in the case known in media as "The Cabinet events," prevented EU representatives from attending the court session on Tuesday.
 
Security forces denied entry to the obervers from the mission, informing them that it was the court's decision.
 
Sixteen defendants in the case face charges of illegal assembly, possession of sharp weapons and Molotov cocktails, assaulting police and army forces, setting fire to the Institut d’Égypte and attacking state institutions.
