Zamalek President Mortada Mansour on Tuesday shared on his social media pages a report by the advisors to the State Commissioners Authority of the State Council recommending that he retain his position as president of Zamalek.
He said that the report recommends canceling his dismissal as Zamalek Club head as it violates the sports law and does not achieve any public interest.
According to the report, the State Commissioners Authority recommended accepting the two appeals of the State Lawsuits Authority on behalf of the Minister of Youth and Sports, the Directorate of Youth and Sports in Giza and Mansour against the ruling.
He added that the report recommended the cancellation of the rulings issued against him in cases due to the demise of the capacity requirement for the plaintiffs.
The Ministry Sports announced earlier this year the implementation of the ruling issued by the Administrative Court in Cairo against Mansour.
The court’s ruling aimed to “remove the status” of Mansour after accepting a lawsuit filed by two former members of the Zamalek board of directors and others to demand his removal.
This came after he was imprisoned for a month, on charges of insulting and defaming Al-Ahly Sporting Club President Mahmoud al-Khatib.
Mansour was imprisoned for one month, from February 25 to March 25, on charges of insulting and defaming Al-Ahly Sporting Club President Mahmoud al-Khatib.
