July 11 to be official paid holiday in Egypt for Islamic New Year

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has announced that Thursday, July 11 will be an official paid holiday on the occasion of Islamic New Year.

The statement said that the holiday is a substitute for the Gregorian date corresponding to the first day of the month of Muharram 1446 AH, according to what will be determined by astronomical calculations.

The statement clarified that the holiday will be implemented for employees in ministries, government departments, public bodies, local administration units, and companies in the public sector, public business sector and private sector.
