State-run Al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Monday that two people, one of whom was a doctor, worked together to steal the kidneys of acquaintances.
According to the state daily, one of the men would invite friends to his apartment, then the doctor would anesthetize them and transfer them to a hospital to remove their kidneys.
Two men whose kidneys were stolen reported one of the men to the authorities after he offered to pay each of them LE2,000 (US$324). The thief was captured by police in Alexandria, Al-Ahram reported.
