King Tut series displayed on Spike Channel

The American TV channel Spike has started to air a six-hour drama about the Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamun dubbed "Tut."

The series will be displayed over a period of three days.

The Canadian actor Avan Jogia plays the role of young Tut while renowned British actor Ben Kingsley plays the role of Ay, Tut's minister.

The Los Angeles Times newspaper says the series tells the story of King Tut's rise to power and also tells the story of the struggle between him and his close adviser Ay, as well as others around them.

Many historians believe that Tut's skeleton was flawed, making him physically incompetent to take part in battles, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The series portrayed King Tut's weakness as a human being and not just as a king, the newspaper added.
