Immigration Minister Suha Gendy congratulated Egyptian Judge David Labib on his appointment as a judge of appeal in the Supreme Court of the US state of New Jersey.
This is the second time that an Egyptian judge has been appointed into the Supreme Court, after Sherry Michael, daughter of Archpriest Michael Edward in Cleveland, who works with the Ohio Supreme Court.
The New Jersey State Congress chose Labib as an appellate judge.
Gendy congratulated Labib and his family, and hailed his example as what Egyptian expatriates are capable of.
Labib worked as Attorney General of the State of New Jersey for years, and earlier he worked as a criminal lawyer.
He graduated from the Cardozo School of Law in 2007, and practiced law for more than 16 years, until his appointment as a judge in the US state of New Jersey.
