LE5,000 for families of victims of Ayyat train accident: Giza governor

Giza Governor Kamal al-Daly has decided to disburse compensation for the families of those who were killed and injured in the Ayyat train accident.
 
In remarks, Daly said he has ordered that the families of the people who perished in the accident be given LE5,000 each, while the families of those who were injured will receive LE2,000 each, adding that such compensations will be paid by the governorate, in addition to compensation that will be paid by Social Solidarity Ministry.
 
The governor cut his tour short at the quarries and cemeteries project in 6 October City and headed to the scene of the accident.
 
A train hit a truck in Ayyat city on Sunday, which left six people dead and three others injured. Victims were transferred to the Om al-Masriyeen and Qasr al-Aini hospitals.
 
The accident took place when the truck driver passed through the crossing, which was open while the train was passing, according to investigations.
