LE90,000 stolen from safe inside Alexandria Security Directorate

Prosecutors in Alexandria are investigating the apparent theft of LE90,000 from a safe inside the Alexandria Security Directorate.

The prosecution office for the city's Sidi Gaber area said on Wednesday that forensic investigators have been tasked with examining the scene of the theft, which took place within the directorate's security department.

An employee of the finance department reported that he found the lock on the safe broken and the money missing.

The case was reported to Brigadier General Sherif Abdel Hamid, the head of the Alexandria Investigations Department, who took charge of the case.

So far, investigators have reported no leads in the case.
