The Egyptian Meteorological Authority expects light to moderate rain on Friday and Saturday.
Chances of light rain, which can be moderate at times in some areas are expected on Friday.
This will be especially evident in the northern coasts and northern Lower Egypt, Manar Ghanem, a member of the Media Center at the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, explained.
She added, during a phone call to the Egyptian Channel One, that the chances of rain are limited to coastal areas, at intermittent periods of the day.
Ghanem expected that Saturday the weather will be affected by a depression in the upper atmosphere, which will have the greatest impact on the coastal areas overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
This will result in an increase in the chances of rainfall.
Light to moderate rain is expected in the northern coastal governorates of Matruh, Alexandria, Beheira, Daqahliya, Kafr al-Sheikh, Port Said, Damietta, North Sinai especially in the northern side close to the Mediterranean.
Ghanem stated that from Saturday evening, the rain is expected to advance to some areas of southern Lower Egypt, but its progress in the interior regions will be in the form of light, ineffective rain.
