Low-ranking police officers staged protests in Cairo and other cities on Wednesday, demanding that their superiors be brought to trial for ordering the killing of demonstrators during the revolution.
The only verdict handed down so far was issued in absentia in May against a low-ranking police official, sentencing him to death for killing 18 demonstrators.
Other high-ranking officers are still being investigated while continuing to serve in the police force, despite the charges leveled against them.
Police officers protesting on Wednesday also demanded better salaries and an independent syndicate for police officers.
