French President Emmanuel Macron thanked the Egyptian authorities for their humanitarian efforts to support the people of Gaza strip.
In his speech during his visit to the humanitarian aid warehouses in al-Arish, North Sinai, Macron said, “We thank the relief organizations operating in Gaza despite the current challenges.”
“The humanitarian situation in Gaza has now become more dire, and resuming the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza is a top priority.”
Macron added “I emphasized to (Egyptian) President (Abdel Fattah) al-Sisi the importance of resuming the entry of aid to Gaza.”
“It is unacceptable to target humanitarian and relief personnel in Gaza,” he said.
He discussed his visit to the Arish hospital and humanitarian aid warehouses, as reported by AlQahera News Channel, Macron thanking the Egyptian authorities: “We appreciate their tremendous efforts since the outbreak of the crisis.”
“In my meeting with President Sisi this morning, I sensed his great commitment to achieving a ceasefire.”
He also thanked the non-governmental organizations working on this matter.
Macron continued “I thank all agencies, such as the United Nations Development Program, as civilians and humanitarian workers have witnessed many losses in recent days, especially those working for the Palestinian Red Crescent, who have suffered injuries and lost their loved ones.”
“I am now confronted with some French humanitarian aid that was rejected because it was placed in metal containers since March 2 and is on the verge of spoilage,” he noted.
Macron continued, “The humanitarian situation has never been as dire since the outbreak of the crisis on October 7, and the blockade has never been as prolonged as it is now. For us in European countries, a priority is to deliver humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip, a matter discussed yesterday with President Sisi and the King of Jordan.”
