The stations of the National Seismic Network of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) recorded, on Monday, an earthquake 71 km northwest of the city of Sohag, Upper Egypt.
The institute said that the tremor occurred at 11:44 am local time, with a magnitude of 3.47 on the Richter scale, and at a depth of 5.5 km.
The institute said it didn’t receive any indication of people feeling the earthquake, and no reported loss of life and property.
Head of NRIAG Gad al-Qadi, said in a statement, on Monday, that the tremor occurred at a depth of 5.5 km, at a latitude of 64.26 degrees north and longitude 56.31 degrees east.
