Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola spoke on Saturday evening about the performance of Egyptian international Omar Marmoush in the English Premier League competition for the 2024-25 season.
Marmoush participated on Saturday evening in Manchester City’s victory over Chelsea, with three goals to one, as part of the English Premier League competition for the 2024-25 season.
“We have suffered recently and it has been a very difficult season, most of the players have been here for eight or nine years and I will not change my opinion in two months,” Guardiola said after Saturday’s Manchester City-Chelsea match.
“We have to realize that what we are doing is not enough, I ask them to go forward and that’s what we did, we created enough chances to score and in the end I am really happy with the win,” he added.
“Of course we need fresh legs with Omar Marmoush and Abdulkadir Khosanov, and now we have one last Champions League match on Wednesday,” he continued.
Guardiola added: “Omar Marmoush made incredible movements that the players in the middle could not see! I think Ilkay Gundogan, Mateo Kovacic, and Bernardo Silva should be more clever in the movements against the high line Chelsea had! It’s a question of time knowing each other because we don’t know the movements he likes, and it needs time. But he played 70-75 minutes good!”
“Really good! That connection with other players and incredible movement! It is the first game and he (Marmoush) deals with the change and he makes unbelievable movements!” he said.
Guardiola continued: “If we don’t pass the ball, we are one of the worst team! We need the ball to survive!.”
