International Cooperation Minister Rania al-Mashat said the visit of the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and his accompanying high-level delegation is the first trip ever by officials of the Vietnamese government since Covid-19 pandemic.
The visit is reflecting painstaking and tireless efforts aimed at promoting vistas of joint action by the two countries on all fronts, given Egypt and Vietnam enjoy strong, deep and profound relations that started since 1963, added Mashat.
This current visit coincides with the 60th anniversary of starting diplomatic ties between the two countries, she said at talks with Quang during his visit to Egypt Thursday.
The talks tackled ways of boosting joint cooperation relations between the two countries in various fields.
The visit is considered an important chance for ushering in a new era, based on development priorities in the two countries in order to foster economic cooperation amid challenges facing all world countries, Mashat pointed out.
During the visit, the Vietnamese official will meet with several officials from the government and bodies concerned in Egypt.
The international cooperation minister asserted the Egyptian State is looking forward to further pushing forward joint ties binding Egypt and Vietnam in a way that reflects aspirations of both nations toward achievement of development and promotion of joint cooperation in all domains of priority.
She underscored the importance of the Joint Egyptian-Vietnamese Committee which is playing an important role in enhancing joint ties and boosting cooperation between the public and private sectors.
Mashat pointed out to the active participation of Vietnam in the 27th session of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Sharm el Sheikh last November.
For his part, the Vietnamese deputy premier said his country is keen on promoting joint cooperation vistas with Egypt and build on historical and deeply-rooted ties binding the two nations and development efforts in the two countries.
He said there are many cooperation chances for promoting economic relations and scaling up partnerships and investments by the private sector.
