Military court postpones photojournalist trial

The Ismailia Military Court ruled on Monday to postpone photojournalist Mohamed Sabry's trial to 29 January in order to have more time to hear the testimonies of defense witnesses.

Sabry is accused of photographing military areas in the border city of Rafah.

The court session was held in the Second Field Army command. Activists and members of the No for Military Trials group attended in high numbers.

Mohamed Hanafy, Sabry’s lawyer, the court heard testimonies from two soldiers during the session. One of them was standing at the watchtower at the time of the arrest, while the other — who was in charge of the camp, made the arrest.
