Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Sidqy Sobhy said that the Libyan and Egyptian armed forces would cooperate in all fields at a press conference with his Libyan counterpart on Wednesday.
Sobhy added that his visit to Libya “would not be the last and that it comes within organizing the work between the two armies.”
“Libya’s great army will be the best in the region,” Sobhy said alongside Major General Youssef al-Manqoush. Sobhy said that the two agreed on joint trainings.
Sobhy expressed hope that cooperation among the two armies would be on the highest level, adding “we have no difficulties in cooperation with Libya. There will not be problems.”
“My accompanying delegation and I were glad about our visit to such a great Libyan place, the Libyan Command and Staff College,” he said, saying that it had improved greatly.
Manqoush said he was grateful for the experience of Egyptian officers, and that the Libyan army has been learning from the Egyptians since it was founded in 1940.
“The chief of staff’s visit asserts the brotherhood and readiness of cooperation with the Libyan army,” he added.
Sobhy started a visit to Libya on Tuesday to develop military cooperation and issues of mutual.
