Millions of Egyptians prayed Eid prayer early on Saturday at mosques and yards amid heavy presence of security, ambulances and civil protection authorities.
In Suez, citizens prayed at more than 40 yards. Major General Al-Araby al-Sarwy, the governor, accompanied by the governate’s security chief Tareq al-Gazzar prayed at Port Tawfiq city.
Police secured entrances and exits of the praying yards.
In New Valley, citizens prayed at 51 praying yards in addition to 500 mosques.
Governor Mahmoud Ashmawy, accompanied by several figures, offered felicitations to citizens after the prayers.
In North Sinai, thousands of citizens prayed amid high security measures. Several political, popular and security figures as well as clerics from Al-Azhar and the Religious Endowments Ministry attended the prayers.
In Qena, 5,000 mosques and 64 yards were prepared for thousands of Muslims, while 85 yards were prepared for worshippers in Minya.
