According to Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hossam al-Moghazy, Egypt will sign a contract with a company to conduct studies on the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, starting next July, in accordance with the road map that has been agreed on between the water ministers in Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia, and with the tripartite agreement signed by President Abdel Fattah Sisi, his Sudanese counterpart Omar al-Bashir, and the Prime Minister of Ethiopia Hailemariam Desalegn.
In a press statement on the sidelines of the "Support to the National Water Resources Plan" workshop, the minister said that the French consulting company PRL must submit its work plan to the National Committee of Experts by June 22.
After the company's plan is approved, its representatives will meet with the ministers of irrigation and electricity of the three countries in the beginning of July, and then sign the contract in Addis Ababa or Cairo, he added.
