Minister looks to foster nuclear cooperation at IAEA conference

Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Energy Hassan Younis has announced plans to convene with a number of representatives from several nuclear states at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) meetings starting today in Vienna, Austria.

Younis said he intends to discuss future cooperation with those states on Egypt’s nuclear program, including personnel acquisitions. Egypt will continue its transparent cooperation with the IAEA, Younis added in a press statement. He also said international bids for the country’s nuclear project will be invited by the end of this year.

Meanwhile, 67 Egyptian engineers are scheduled to attend nuclear training in Russia, the US, South Korea and France, according to the minister.
