Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Sweilam said Saturday 23/03/2024 countries of the world must join together to achieve a safe and just water future that supports prosperity and peace for all.
This came during his participation today in the launch of the United Nations World Water Development Report 2024, on the sidelines of his participation in the celebration of the Water Day by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Sweilam praised the report which draws attention to the complex and interconnected relationships between sustainable water management and achieving prosperity and peace.
The report reviews the state of water resources in the world, as nearly half of the world’s population currently suffers from severe water scarcity.
