Antiquities Minister Mamdouh Al-Damaty is studying the possibility of lighting the Akhnaton Museum in Minya with solar energy, he said in press statements on Thursday during a visit to the museum.
The minister added that the first phase of renovations at the museum had been finished, while the second phase is nearly completed by 95 percent.
The minister made a tour at the LE44 million tourist nile dock and visitors’ center at Tal Al-Amarnah.
In a different context, Culture Minister Gaber Asfour opened Thursday the Egyptian section at Venice’s Vittoriano museum, where replicas of Pharaonic king Tut Ankh Amon’s tombs are exhibited, along with works by other Egyptian artists.
