The spokesperson for Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Hamdy Abdel-Aziz stated on Saturday that a three-hour power cut experienced in parts of Egypt was only for one day, and assured it will not be repeated.
“We are not happy with the electricity being cut off for two hours, but the issue of the extra hour was only for one day,” he explained.
During a telephone interview with TV host Lamis al-Hadidi on the“Last Word” (Kalema Akhera) TV show, Abdel-Aziz added that gas supplies were restored to all fertilizer factories as of Thursday.
The volume of gas pumped into fertilizer factories represents the same gas levels present before the recent heat wave, he said.
He also commented on the dues of foreign companies working in the field of oil exploration, stating: “We paid 25 percent of the dues of the oil companies in March, and another 25 percent were paid during this week.”
