Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry thanked Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir during their meeting for inviting the three eastern Nile Basin countries to attend a reunion in Khartoum over the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, according to Badr Abdel Aaty, the ministry spokesperson.
In a phone call during a talk show aired by the privately-owned Al-Hayat TV channel on Wednesday, Abdel Aaty added that preparations for another meeting in Cairo between al-Bashir and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi are ongoing, as it is schedueld to take place during the coming few weeks.
