The Egyptian Meteorological Authority announced that temperatures will rise by 8C across most parts of Egypt on Monday, reaching up to 35C in Upper Egypt.
The weather is expected to be moderately hot on Sunday – temperatures in Greater Cairo (Cairo-Giza-Qalyubia) will be 27C during the day and 15C at night.
Meteorologists attributed the rise in temperatures to the country being affected by a high-pressure area that controls all Egypt governorates.
The EMA still advised not to loosen clothes and keep a jacket when going out in the late night or early morning hours, given the temperature differences during this period between day and night.
It also advised against being exposed to sunlight during the expected heat wave and to walk in the shade.
Weather forecast on Sunday:
Mists are expected on highways, agricultural roads, near water bodies, Suez Canal cities, northern Upper Egypt and central Sinai.
The EMA advised motorists to exercise caution when driving due to low morning visibility on some roads.
Satellite imagery shows wind activity on areas of the northwestern coasts, at intermittent intervals.
Temperatures on Sunday:
Northern coasts: 25C
Greater Cairo, Northern Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt: 27C
Southern Upper Egypt: 30C
