The International Center for Sports Studies (CIES) published a list of the most expensive players in the English Premier League, where Mohamed Salah came in the 24th place. He ranked 57th in the world.
The current market value of the 29-year-old Salah is 66.1 million euros, according to CIES.
The CIES did not rely on the value of the penalty clause in player contracts, but rather used a new approach that it had developed, to draw up a list of the most expensive football players in the world, at the beginning of the new year 2022.
ESPN network meanwhile reported that Liverpool was in the process of offering a huge salary to Salah, to become the highest in the English Premier League, to agree to extending his contract with the Reds.
ESPN reported that the Egyptian Pharaoh will receive a salary of 500,000 pounds per week, a figure that no player in the English Premier League receives.
Manchester City star Phil Foden, 21, topped the list of the most expensive players in the Premier League with 152.6 million euros, followed by his compatriot Mason Greenwood of Manchester United, and Robin Diaz of Manchester City, in second and third places, respectively.
While Foden ranked second on the list of the most expensive players in the world, it was a big surprise that Brazilian Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid tops the list at an estimated market value of 166 million euros, according to CIES.
Norwegian star Erling Haaland, Borussia Dortmund’s top scorer, came in third place.
Forty-one players from the English Premier League entered the list of the 100 most expensive players in the world, which was devoid of a number of stars such as Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo, Algerian Riyad Mahrez of Manchester City, Moroccan Hakim Ziyech of Chelsea and others.
Here is the list of the most expensive players in the English Premier League, according to CIES:
English Phil Foden (Manchester City) 152.6 million euros.
Englishman Mason Greenwood (Manchester United) 133.9 million euros.
Portuguese Ruben Diaz (Manchester City) 120.5 million euros.
Jadon Sancho (Manchester United) 115 million euros.

Liverpool sent a very special message to the African trio Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita, before their participation in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.
The trio will not join Liverpool in several matches in the English Premier League due to their participation in the African championship.
The official Liverpool account on Twitter wrote: “Good luck to Mo, Naby and Sadio as they compete in the Africa Cup of Nations!”
Egypt will start its campaign in that tournament against Nigeria on January 11.
