Mohamed Salah to stay in Liverpool FC: Report

English press reports revealed that Liverpool FC has decided to keep Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, the team’s striker, after quitting the UEFA Europa League for the current season 2023-2024 in the game against Italy’s Atalanta.

Liverpool departed the Europa League competitions despite its 1-0 victory against Atalanta in their match on Thursday evening at Gewiss Stadium, as part of the second leg of the quarter-finals for the current season 2023-24.

The Liverpool Echo newspaper reported that Liverpool has decided to keep Salah as a player in the team, and will not consider the offers submitted to him – specifically from Saudi League clubs.

The newspaper indicated that the Reds made this decision after becoming threatened with losing all titles this season, which requires to maintain their players and basic strength next season to compete again for all titles locally and across the continent.

Salah has been frequently linked to a move to the Saudi League.

In September, Liverpool FC rejected a £150 million offer from Al-Ittihad, which included Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante.

Salah, who led Liverpool FC to third place in the English Premier League this season with 17 goals in 26 matches, had his contract extended at Anfield until June 2025 after signing the most lucrative deal in the club’s history in 2022.
