Mohammed bin Zayed pardons Zamalek trio in UAE

The President of the UAE, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ordered on Tuesday the pardon of the Zamalek trio arrested for assault following the Zamalek vs Pyramids match held in Abu Dhabi on October 20.

This pardon comes from the strong relations between the UAE and Egypt, and Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s desire to strengthen these bonds.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mohamed al-Shazly in a statement sent to journalists announced that coordination with Emirati institutions in resolving the crisis has proved fruitful.

It is expected that in the coming hours, the return of the players will be announced.

The Abu Dhabi Court in the UAE has earlier decided to imprisoned the football director of Zamalek Club, Abdel-Wahid al-Sayed and players Mostafa Shalaby and Nabil Emad Donga for a month, in addition to a fine of 200,000 dirhams for each of them.
